Overview
I led the end-to-end creative and technical execution of the League of Legends World Championship Opening Ceremony, from concept development through live performance. As the creative lead, I directed a multidisciplinary team spanning design, animation, choreography, and live production. I was responsible for shaping the vision, presenting it to key stakeholders, and managing both internal teams and external partners throughout the process.
My role included overseeing stage and lighting design, hologram content, and choreography, while aligning every element with Riot Games' business goals. The performance introduced a new Riot IP, featured a global collaboration with Louis Vuitton, and highlighted the prestige of the World Championship. I was on site to ensure flawless execution, managing real-time decisions and maintaining creative consistency throughout the show.

The Challenge
This show brought together several major company priorities that all needed to shine within a single performance. It marked the global debut of Riot’s new virtual music group, True Damage, introduced a high-profile partnership with Louis Vuitton, and celebrated the League of Legends World Championship, the pinnacle event in global esports. Each of these elements required its own distinct moment within the Opening Ceremony while still delivering a cohesive and unforgettable experience.
Riot Games opening ceremonies had become synonymous with groundbreaking spectacle and the use of emerging technologies. The challenge was not only to push the boundaries creatively, but to ensure the in-venue experience felt just as special and immersive as the broadcast viewed at home. How could we create a live show that matched the scale, innovation, and emotional impact fans had come to expect around the world?

The Solution
I collaborated closely with a cross-functional team of creatives, producers, business development leads, marketing teams, and external agencies to develop a run of show that brought all key elements together. I led the development of the creative vision, pitched and sourced the hologram technology, and managed content production across both internal teams and external partners. In addition, we partnered with Louis Vuitton to design a custom championship trophy case and to create bespoke wardrobes for our musical artists, integrating fashion, music, and gameplay into a single cohesive experience.
