Overview

I challenged myself to create a 100% AI-generated short film in just six days. The goal of this side project was to learn the tools firsthand, explore the limits of what AI was capable of, and see how far I could push the technology creatively.
Most AI content online tends to be short clips without much depth or meaning. I set out to see if I could go further—building a real story and fully realized world using nothing but text-to-video prompting.

The Challenge

AI has often carried a stigma—people think it can’t look good, and that it’s limited to slow zooms and wide sci-fi landscapes. The challenge I gave myself was to break that perception by creating camera movements that felt natural and cinematic, all while telling a story that felt grounded and real.

The Solution

I wrote and storyboarded a post-apocalyptic thriller that follows a dog, a robot, and a little girl on a haunting journey. Using a range of tools—primarily Google’s Veo 2 AI engine—I generated every single clip in the video. A huge part of the process was R&D on prompt engineering to achieve the right visual fidelity and maintain consistency across the environments and characters.

The Results

The result is something I’m genuinely proud of. After posting the video on LinkedIn, it quickly gained traction—generating over a million impressions, 100+ shares and reposts, and even leading to several new job opportunities within the week.
The character consistency wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough to serve the story. This film was created in March 2025, and just two months later, AI had advanced so rapidly that much of the workflow I used was already outdated. Still, the lessons I learned from the process were incredibly valuable and continue to shape how I approach AI-driven storytelling.
